4 ENDS OF THE ROAD BIKE TOUR
July 14th – 18th with Cycle Alaska

- Cost: $1900 (USD + $900 single rider fee)
- Deposit: $950 (USD) due by June 1 and remainder by July 1
Join us for a multi-day tour biking to the ends of the road in Juneau! Enjoy three days of cycling, sightseeing, and immersion in Alaska’s water-locked Capital City. This guided tour offers a chance to learn about the unique culture and history of Juneau, all while completing the local challenge of biking to the four ends of the road. When you are not cycling, enjoy the freedom to explore Juneau at your own pace: hiking, shopping, whale watching, tram rides, museums, Alaskan native culture, helicopter tours, the options are endless.

ITINERARY:
Day 1 - Monday, July 14th: Arrival
Arrive to Juneau; enjoy an evening social to get to know your guides, then settle into your lodging for your first night in Juneau.
Day 2 - Tuesday, July 15th: Douglas Island Ride - 1st End!
Begin your first day of cycling with a 26-mile scenic ride to the end of Douglas Island and back. Enjoy the option of an extra challenge, by adding 10.4 miles of biking up to Juneau’s ski area, Eaglecrest, which sits at an elevation of 1200 feet, then enjoy a gentle downhill coast back to sea level. Immerse yourself in Juneau’s magnificent old growth forests and stunning muskeg, and watch salmon run upstream. Then, you’ll bike several miles along Juneau’s coast, with the opportunity to view eagles and sea life, before returning downtown. Take the afternoon to yourself, exploring independently, or viewing our list of recommendedlocal tour companies to explore Juneau in a unique way. Then, reconvene with the group for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3 - Wednesday, July 16th: Mendenhall Glacier and Out the Road - 2nd End!
Your second and longest day of biking; you will start your journey with a 13-mile ride to the Mendenhall Glacier. There, you will have the opportunity to explore the visitor center and surrounding trails before meeting to continue your ride. Next, you will embark on a 34-mile-long ride to the northern most point on Juneau’s road systems. Your ride “out the road,” as locals say, will include scenic views along the coast, with a stop to eat a packed lunch. A tour van will meet you at the end and drive you to Forbidden Peak Brewing Company for a celebratory tasting of locally brewed craft beer and appetizers.
Day 4 - Thursday, July 17th: Thane and Sandy Beach - 3rd and 4th Ends!
Your final day of cycling includes a gentle 18-mile ride to Thane and Sandy Beach to complete the four ends of Juneau. Enjoy the rest of your day how you would like: go on a whale tour, a glacier trek, or maybe a hike! We will provide you a list of
local tour companies if you would like to go on a tour. End the evening with a social at our shop to celebrate the closing of your trip and completion of the 4 Ends of the Road challenge.
Day 5 - Friday, July 18th: Depart Juneau! Fly out of town.
