 We have a variety of seasonal jobs starting as early as April and going through the season which ends in September. We typically start hiring for these positions in February and accept applicants at any time until positions are filled. Tour and Rental Operations Manager

Full Time position February 1 through October 31

We are looking for a fun, hardworking, detail orientated and responsible person to lead our Tour operations. This person must be able to multitask, handle pressure, be an effective /timely communicator and work as a team player. The right candidate must have some supervisory experience and preferred, experience in the tourism industry.

 Our mission statement, "We create great memories for our Guests," is something that we pride ourselves on and we do this through Bicycle tours. Cycle Alaska operates two set tours in Juneau during the summer season, the Bike and Brew Glacier view and the Bike and Tram Elevation Sensation.  The Operations manager is responsible for all logistics in running these tours and ensuring guests have a memorable experience.

 The Tour and Rental Operations Manager position is a year round job with 3 unpaid months. Employment is February 1 through October 31, with unpaid months being November, December and January. During the off season (February, March, April and October), this person will assist in tour planning, scheduling, hiring and training programs, as well as assist the retail shop with sales, projects and other tasks assigned by the General manager.

Job responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Supervising drivers and guides (up to 25 total)
  • Responsible for organizing, setting up and doing daily schedule of tours
  • Communicating with Cruise lines and partner vendors daily through email/phones
  • Oversee the rentals, scheduling and setting up of bikes
  • Ensure that all tours are run properly and on time, help with set up, dock rep and settling
  • Keep and organized and clean tour/shop space
  • Monitor and maintain equipment
  • Help on the retail floor with sales, phones, etc.

Shop Floor Sales Representative

Full Time Seasonal position April through September 30

 

We are looking for a friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic person for our sales floor this summer. Must enjoy bikes and want to promote a bike friendly lifestyle. Bike knowledge is a plus but not required, we can train you on that as long as you’re willing and able to learn.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Assisting customers on the sales floor
  • Answering phones
  • Use POS system for sales and checking in/out bikes for repair
  • Keep the shop clean and organized
  • Stock the sales floor
  • Bike rentals – processing payment and paperwork, fitting bike and gear to renter
  • Help with checking in orders

Experienced Bike Mechanic

Seasonal full time position; March through September

 

 We are currently looking for a friendly experienced mechanic for our summer season. Seeking a hard-working individual who takes pride in their own work, has attention to detail and strong customer service skills.    

 Job requirements, but not limited to:

  • Ability to work on all types of bikes (road, mountain, hybrid, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate with customers about bikes, accessories and repairs, must be able to explain work needed or work done on bikes.
  • Greet customer promptly on entering store and help with all needs on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space

 

Cycle Alaska is a full-service bike shop and Tour Company, our bike shop is open year-round and our tours run May through September. Our mechanics not only work on customer’s bikes, we also have a fleet of rentals and tour bikes that need maintenance all summer long.

Compensation and benefits include:

40 hours a week, some overtime required during peak season

Plus, other discounts and offerings through the tour Industry in Juneau

Hourly wages based on experience

up to $1000 in moving cost covered (will receive at end of season)

Tour Driver Guides

Seasonal full and part time positions; May through September 30


Cycle Alaska is hiring Driver Guides for our 2018 summer season. We're  looking for friendly and energetic people who enjoy working outdoors to share the beauty of Juneau with our Guests. As a Driver Guide you will get the opportunity to communicate directly with guests, share information on the surrounding area while being outside and be a part of a great team here at Cycle Alaska!

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • First and foremost, upholding our Tour Mission; “We create great memories for our guests”.
  • Safely drive 15 passenger vans with a bike trailer
  • Ensure a safe, fun and timely tour
  • Engage with guests, provide a fun and informational tour talk and be attentive to the guests needs throughout the tour
  • Give a safety talk and instructions on bike use before each tour
  • Provide assistance along bike route with crossings, scenic stops and any bike issues
  • Sometimes you will be biking as a guide!

Must have at least six years driving experience and a clear record for three years prior. Must be able to load and unload bikes from a trailer, can ride a bike for nine miles and be a team player.

Tour Guide

Seasonal full and part time positions; May through September

 

Cycle Alaska is hiring Guides for our 2018 summer season. Looking for a friendly and energetic person who enjoys working outdoors to share the beauty of Juneau with our Guests. As a Guide, you will get the opportunity to communicate directly with guests, share information on the surrounding area while being outside and be a part of a great team here at Cycle Alaska!

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • First and foremost, upholding our tour mission; "We create great Memories for our guests".
  • Ensure a safe, fun and timely tour
  • Dock rep for your tour, collect tickets and settle
  • Conduct tour talks while driving to locations and at viewing points along tour route
  • Distribute bikes, helmets, raingear and other gear as needed to guests
  • Guide guests on bikes through two different tour locations, each about 9 miles long
  • Engage with the guests and be attentive to their needs

 Must be able to lift and unload bikes from a trailer, can ride a bike for nine miles and be a team player.
