Bike Mechanic

Full Time Seasonal position April 2021 through September

 

Cycle Alaska is a full-service bike shop and tour company. Cycle Alaska has been rooted in the Juneau community for more than 24 years. We offer exceptional service and are always on the lookout for opportunities to get the community involved and out riding bikes.  Cycle Alaska has been named one of America’s Best Bike Shops by the National Bike Dealers Association 6 years in a row! We take pride in our employees and in our work. Our bike shop is open year round. During the summer season we are busy running bike tours and rentals. 


With an uncertain Cruise season we are hoping to focus on independent travelers and our Juneau locals. To do this we need more hands on deck!

We are seeking a full time seasonal bike mechanic starting mid March. Duties will include bicycle assembly, assessment and repair. You may also help on the sales floor occasionally. 


Customer experiences are very important to us at Cycle Alaska. We pride ourselves on our customer interactions and we hope you do too! 

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a passion for cycling
  • Feel comfortable replacing or repairing most bicycle components
  • Know how to completely re-cable a bike
  • Previous bike assembly experience or equivalent preferred
  • Interest in working in a team environment committed to providing excellent sales and service experience while increasing sales through service
  • Ability to maintain open and positive relations with employees and customers
  • Interest in developing own skills and knowledge
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Ability to periodically lift 40 pounds
  • Seasonal time period is from early April to late September.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with eBikes, suspension service, electronic shifting, hydraulic disc brakes and Ascend

Shop Assistant 

Full Time Seasonal position March 2021 through August/September

We are seeking a full time seasonal Shop Assistant starting mid March to help with selling, building, cleaning, delivery and renting bikes or helping with a tour, just to name a few. One day you might be out delivering bikes across Juneau and the next helping a kid accessorize their first bike here in the shop. Flexibility is key! The perfect candidate is someone who has a positive attitude, is willing to jump in and learn and can provide stellar customer service.

We are looking for the right fit! Not sure how to change a bike tire or what a bike chain looks like? That is no problem. We can teach you that.


Requirements:

Must have at least 6 years of driving experience and a clean driving record for the past 3

Have the ability to lift up to 55LBs occasionally 

Amazing Customer Service Skills

Able to work in a fast paced environment

Willingness to learn new things

A Great Attitude
